We hear you. So many of us spend all year waiting for Summer, and not just for the good weather and beautiful outdoors. We want to feel our best, and for so many – that happens organically in the Summer! We have less pain, way more energy, and feel less stressed and more relaxed overall. It feels easier to get things done, and motivation flows more naturally.
Did you know there are actual reasons for this? Besides Covid, we don’t really battle colds or flu in the Summer, so our immune systems don’t have to work as hard. Plus, all that added daylight we love is actually providing us more energy and Vitamin D. In the winter we get tenser from the cold, but the heat of the summer helps our muscles relax and be more flexible. Feeling your best in the Summer isn’t all in your head. All the things we look forward to really do help us physically and emotionally.
But hold on, just because Summer has this effect naturally, doesn’t mean you have to feel bad during the Winter months! Now is actually a great time to set yourself up for a successful fall and winter. Surprised? We can actually heal better when our bodies’ resources aren’t being tapped by immune challenges and constant cold, dampness, and stress.
Sometimes when we see a new patient in the winter months, it’s more challenging to get them to feel better faster when they’re in the middle of battling the winter elements. But, when we start seeing clients in the summer or early fall, we know that by winter they will start feeling more energized ahead of time. Building up this energy in preparation for winter can keep you hormonally balanced, and less fatigued during the colder, darker months!
